The John Walker Soccer Complex features a 1,500-seat grandstand designed to keep fans close to the action and includes a soccer house outfitted with team locker rooms, athletic training facilities, coaches' offices, coaches' lounge, the Red Raider lounge (a public lounge), a team lounge equipped with a state-of-the art video system for film study, a team weight room and an equipment room. Players enjoy a "boot room" located immediately inside the facility as a place dedicated to their footwear.
The $5 million facility received a facelift prior to a memorable 2023 season as Texas Tech replaced its previous artificial surface with a natural grass field. The move to natural grass aligns with the vast majority of competition fields throughout the Big 12 Conference and peer power-five leagues. Construction on the roughly $1 million turf project was completed by the Red Raiders' season opener in August 2023. Additionally, ample outdoor warm up areas are ensured by virtue of a separate practice pitch south of the main complex.
The John Walker Soccer Complex was completed in September 2009 and was dedicated on Oct. 2, 2009, after he, his wife, Lisa, and their family contributed $2.25 million toward the project, earning the naming rights.

The Texas Tech soccer program officially unveiled the Gerald Myers Indoor Soccer Facility in October 2012.
The facility was completed in 165 days and was constructed over the existing Field Turf practice fields adjacent to the John Walker Soccer Complex. The building is both heated and cooled and is within walking distance of the player's lounge, locker rooms and coaches offices housed within the team field house.
Complete with coaches offices and a player meeting room, the large indoor practice facility also features over 15 Skills King training aids for player use.
The 37,800 square foot soccer-specific training facility sits directly south of the playing field at the John Walker Soccer Complex, and will provide the Red Raiders a state-of-the-art climate-controlled training facility.
